How Information Technology Changed the Concept of Office Work During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Pandemic has altered the way the world thinks, behaves and acts. It has entirely changed the dynamics of how we live and how we work.
Though the future looks uncertain, man has always found ways to make his circumstances work for him. When the lock down affected the whole world with its consequences, the information technology made quite an impact in people’s lives. Not only has it helped to keep people connected digitally, it has also managed to keep some of the world businesses running. This new hybrid way of working is now how we connect, communicate and create. The information technology has now made remote working possible. It has created virtual office environments for social interactions.
This changed concept of office work created a balance between the professional and personal lives. Though it was hard at first to cope with this digital transformation of our everyday routines but somehow working for ones office from the comfort of ones home increased productivity of the employees. One no longer has to drive miles to reach their office, or get stuck in traffic jams or wait in long queues to get their morning coffees. All you have to do is to connect to your virtual office sitting on your cozy couch and make a living.
All this change is made possible due of the advancement of information technology and the expansive and wide-ranging digital opportunities it provides across all disciplines and locations. Even when the natives returned to their land, they were able to connect to their offices and run their companies and do their jobs.
Though it seemed at first that the Pandemic might bring the world to a stand-still. On the contrary, it made us able to re-imagine our work dynamics and move from the typical 9 to 5 work regimen to a more constructive and convenient process of office work.
